In the absence of accountable Missouri Assessment data, University of Missouri Charter Schools Sponsorship (CSS) has reviewed available MAP data and all other relevant evidence pertaining to Frontier Schools (Frontier) during 2021-22 and has determined that Frontier is in Good Standing. This determination is based on Frontier’s compliance with its Performance Contract with Mizzou and our Programmatic Review for the year.
The 2021 school year was the second of Frontier Schools’ (Frontier) renewed charter, which extends through SY 2024, and the second full year with MU Charter School Sponsorship.
Having a STEM focus, students participate in inquiry-based and problem-solving opportunities, with a strong emphasis on mathematics and science to prepare them for future grade levels and success in the real world. A well-defined curriculum, supported by research-based best practices and proven resources that align with Missouri Learning Standards support student learning.
Frontier is compliant with the provisions of its Performance Contract in Governance, Operations, and Instruction, but academic outcomes cannot be fully assessed due to MAP testing in 2021 is for informational purposes, not accountability.
Established policies and procedures, including a well-developed instructional model that effectively uses technology on a regular basis, allowed Frontier to navigate the second year of significant virtual instruction due to the pandemic.
