Dear Frontier Parents/Guardians:
Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with the recent announcement by Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, Frontier Schools is cancelling all classes after Spring Break through April 24, 2020 in order to curb the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19). All school activities, field trips, athletic events, and competitions have also been cancelled during this time.
Due to cancelling classes through April 24th, we will provide an alternate instruction method. This alternate method of instruction will help our students continue to learn at home and stay sharp during the closure. Parents will be provided with more information about this method after Spring Break.
Many parents and/or guardians have stopped by their child's school on March 13th or 14th and they have picked up a Chromebook or an iPad. If you were unable to stop by your child’s school during those dates, please call your child’s school’s front office after Spring Break to learn how you can pick up the device.
We will remain in close contact with local public health officials and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education throughout the duration of this closure and will provide updates to families as appropriate.
We encourage you to stay informed of the situation by regularly checking updates from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Kansas City Health Department. The State of Missouri has also activated a hotline for Missouri citizens seeking COVID-19 guidance. The number is 877-435-8411.
We understand this is a time of uncertainty and concern. We will work through this together to keep our students, families, and staff safe. Frontier Schools Central Office and campuses will stay closed during Spring Break between March 16 and 20. Future updates will continue to be shared to parents via school website, email, and social media.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
