Representative Ingrid Burnett Virtually Visits FSI Elementary!

On Friday, February 5th, Representative Ingrid Burnett virtually visited students from Frontier School of Innovation Elementary. During her visit she observed Ms. Klinksick’s 1st grade class during their reading/phonics time, followed by an interactive visit with Ms. Edmonds 3rd grade Social Studies class. 3rd grade students had the opportunity to ask many questions and learn firsthand what she does as a representative, how she helps schools, what she enjoys about her job, how she helps people in Missouri, and much more. When asked what advice she can give a third grader, Representative Burnett told students to stay in school and keep learning, to read often, and to pursue a career they are passionate about. After her visit with students, school administrators along with the Director of Advocacy with Missouri Charter Public School Association shared key information about Frontier Schools along with their concerns with the funding disparity between district and charter schools. We enjoyed our visit with Representative Burnett and we look forward to an on-going partnership.
