ONLINE LEARNING

ONLINE LEARNING IN THE CLASSROOMS

At Frontier Schools, we incorporate online learning programs, such as Reading Eggs, Reading Eggspress, ALEKS and Study Island, as an asset in our classrooms.
Online learning programs are not to replace the teacher; however, they’re an asset to many of our teachers. Each program allows our teachers to access reports from their students’ accounts in order to see their progress, it also gives teachers time to successfully meet with students at their level or lower while the rest of the class is productively engaged in the program.
Students can independently work on skills that they’re developing, regardless of what level the majority of the class is on. These programs not only benefit our teachers, but also our students.

Our students enjoy using these learning programs as it helps them learn and retain information through interactive stories, mock quizzes, course related games and so much more. In addition, the programs allow our students to learn and work at their own pace. These programs allow students to keep working on a particular subject even if they’re not ready to move on.
WHEN ARE ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAMS USED IN THE CLASSROOMS
Teachers allow students to use these learning programs during iPad time, literacy centers and, at times, during computer class. As stated previously, these programs are not to replace our teachers and are only used once a day for an hour.
